The Poet of Pantomimes

The Poet of Pantomimes is a solo performance dance originating in The Disloyalty of Blushing. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Fuchsia Suitor. The dancer performs slowly with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with four specific moves to be mastered. The jerking dance is punctuated by proud body level changes.

• The dance begins with the first theme of the music. This lively strong section is punctuated by high left leg lifts.
• The dance enters a new section with the exposition of the first theme of the music. This section is punctuated by clockwise quarter turns, high body level and large spins.
• The dance enters a new section with the second theme of the music. This section is punctuated by debauched kicks, crude runs and straight walks.
• The dance enters a new section with the exposition of the second theme of the music. This section is punctuated by aborted leftward bends, intense curved walks and softly percussive runs.
• The dance enters a new section with the bridge-passage of the music. This section is spirited and energetic.
• The dance enters a new section with the synthesis of the music. This powerful section is punctuated by intense left leg lifts.
• The tobog is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a vivacious forward bend with expressive independent body movement.
• The stran is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is spirited independent body movement with a low body level.
• The sputo is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a lively body level change with an expressive forward bend and an elaborate arm carriage.
• The umung is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an intense leap with a right leg lift.
