The Heliotrope Silkiness

The Heliotrope Silkiness is a form of music used to commemorate important events originally devised by the elf Caraca Gullytalons. The rules of the form are applied by composers to produce individual pieces of music which can be performed. A singer recites any composition of The Truth of Poetry while the music is played on two umola and a niceci. The music is melody and rhythm without harmony. The entire performance should evoke tears and is at a free tempo. The melody has mid-length phrases throughout the form. Only one pitch is ever played at a time. It is performed without preference for a scale and in free rhythm. Throughout, when possible, composers and performers are to use grace notes and locally improvise.

• The singer always provides the rhythm. The voice ranges from the low register to the middle register.
