The Lilac of Aquamarine

The Lilac of Aquamarine is a form of music used to commemorate important events originally devised by the human Fatab Slickpatterned. The rules of the form are applied by composers to produce individual pieces of music which can be performed. One to two chanters recite nonsensical words and sounds while the music is played on a ikar and a umon. The musical voices bring melody with harmony. The entire performance is at a walking pace. The melody has short phrases throughout the form. It is performed without preference for a scale and in free rhythm. Throughout, when possible, composers and performers are to make trills and play rapid runs.

• Each chanter always does harmony and should feel mysterious.
• The ikar always does the main melody and should be broad.
• The umon always does harmony and should perform sweetly.
• The Lilac of Aquamarine has the following structure: a passage and a lengthy finale.
• The simple passage is to become louder and louder. Each of the chanters' voices ranges from the middle register to the high register. Chords are packed close together in dense clusters in this passage.
• The finale is to be moderately soft. Each of the chanters' voices stays in the low register. This passage features only melodic tones and intervals.
