The Most Generals is a poetic form intended to describe Nadmi the Strifeful, originating in The Nation of Meeting. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quatrain. Use of consonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines have similar grammatical structures. Each line has fifteen syllables. The fourth line must make use of ambiguity.
