The Scintillating Lenses
The Scintillating Lenses is a poetic riddle concerning a historical figure, originating in The Contested Storm. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is divided into three distinct parts: seven to nine sexains, a quatrain and a line.
- The first part is intended to make an assertion. The sixth line of each sexain presents a different view of the subject of the fifth line. It has lines with eight syllables.
- The second part is intended to make a counter-assertion. Certain lines present different views of the same subject. It has lines with eight syllables.
- The third part is intended to synthesize previous ideas. It has nine syllables.
