The Yell of Standing
The Yell of Standing is a light poetic form concerning immortality which grew out of the performances of The Ace Ticks. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into three distinct parts: a series of sexains, numerous series of quatrains and a series of octets. Use of epenthesis and metaphor is characteristic of the form. to beseech
- The first part is intended . It has lines with two syllables. The rhyme scheme respecting the full poem is AABBAB.
- The second part is intended to develop the previous idea. It has lines with six syllables. The rhyme scheme within each stanza is aaab.
- The third part is intended to move away from previous ideas. It has lines with five syllables. The rhyme scheme respecting the full poem is CDEDDDCD.
