The Silver of Granite is a poetic narrative intended to beseech The Diamond of Crystal which grew out of the performances of The Assaults of Blood. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a series of octets. Use of consonance and simile is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines reverse grammatical structures.
