The Meadow of Visionaries

The Meadow of Visionaries is a dramatic poetic form which grew out of the performances of The Caves of Waving. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Use of consonance and simile is characteristic of the form. The third line of the tercet must expand the idea of the second line. The first line is intended to describe the past. It has five syllables. The second line is intended to develop the previous idea concerning current events. It has nine syllables. The third line is intended to develop the previous idea concerning the future. It has nine syllables.
