The Sable Lens

The Sable Lens is a light poetic form intended to satirize a chosen subject originally devised by the elf Omo Satinstake. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into four to five quintains and two couplets. Use of elision is characteristic of the form. Each line has nine syllables.

• The first part concerns the past. Certain lines use the same placement of allusions.
• The second part concerns the future. Certain lines use the same placement of allusions.
