The Master of Clouting is a poetic narrative intended to amuse the audience concerning war which grew out of the performances of The Monsters of Telling. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is seven thirteen-line stanzas. Each line has five feet with a tone pattern of even-uneven-even. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABABCBCCBCCCB.
