The Earth of Beaks is a reflective poetic form intended to praise agriculture originally devised by the dwarf Nish Mazegates. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is four to six quintains. Use of epenthesis and vivid imagery is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines use the same placement of allusions. Each line has five feet with a tone pattern of even-uneven. The second line of each quintain reverses the grammatical structure of the first line. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABACA.
